Dr. Henry Yao
Dr. Henry Yao is a urological surgeon providing care in all areas of general urology with special interests in uro-oncology, minimally invasive surgery (robotic and laparoscopic surgery), male and female reconstructive and functional urology. His practice is focused on providing depth of expertise in treatment of urological cancers including prostate, kidney and bladder cancers, as well as treatment of functional urological issues such as urethral stricture disease, male and female urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, neurogenic bladder and pelvic organ prolapse. He can converse with patients in fluent Mandarin.
Dr. Yao maintains a strong interest in medical research and has published 50 peer-reviewed journal articles and co-authored a book chapter on reconstructive urology. He is actively involved in the supervision of students completing research degrees. His main research interest is in the area of cancer survivorship and improving the quality of life for cancer patients. Dr. Yao holds appointment as clinical senior lecturer at The University of Melbourne
