Using the famous quotes from the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland to set the theme for the day, the NSW-ACT Section presents important issues from different Urological sub-specialties and will be delivered by experts from Nursing and Medical field. Our adventure in learning and networking will take place at the beautiful Fairmont Resort Blue Mountains, 90 minutes' drive west from Sydney. This event is proudly sponsored by m|devices.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Dr Nicola Jeffery


Dr Nicola Jeffery is a Urological Surgeon who completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2008 and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Urology) in 2018. She completed a further 3 years of fellowship training in her sub-specialty interest of reconstructive urology at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh (2018) and at the University College London Hospital (2019 and 2020). Under the mentorship of world leaders Professor Anthony Mundy and A/Prof Daniela Andrich in London, she gained valuable experience in the management of patients with urethral stricture, urinary incontinence and complications of prostate cancer treatment.

Dr Amanda Stefanovic


Dr Amada Stefanovic is a medical Oncologist based at Nepean Hospital. She specializes in genitourinary cancers including prostate cancer, plus gynaecological cancers, central nervous system (CNS) tumours, and cancers of unknown primary. Amanda studied at Newcastle University followed by training at John Hunter Hospital and Westmead Hospital. Amanda transferred to Nepean Hospital in 2006. She initially worked as both a Medical Oncologist and Palliative Care Physician, focusing on Medical Oncology from 2009.

Kevin Ancog


Kevin Ancog is a prostate cancer specialist nurse at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPA). He established the Prostate Cancer Care Program at RPA, a nurse-led service, providing psychosocial support and care coordination to prostate cancer patients, including their families and carers, from diagnosis to survivorship. His special interest and existing works in this area are focused on understanding the effects of continence and sexual pre- and rehabilitation programs on the outcomes of prostate cancer treatment.

Kevin is currently the President of the Australia and New Zealand Urological Nurses Society (ANZUNS) and a board member of the Education Framework for Urological Nursing, a collaborative project between ANZUNS, British Association of Urological Nurses, and European Association of Urology Nurses. He is also a member of the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation Urology Network.

Nicola Drayton


Nicola Drayton is the Nurse Manager for Practice Development in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) Nursing and Midwifery Directorate. She has a passion for working with clinicians using PD to bring about meaningful insight and understanding about the way they care for patients, families and their team culture.

Andrew Roberts


Andrew Andrew Roberts is a Nurse Manager with the Nursing and Midwifery Directorate at Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District. He has many years' experience as a Registered Nurse working across both the public and private health care sectors. Recent times have been trying for the profession, so Andrew has made it his aim to protect and enhance the Wellbeing of the Nursing & Midwifery workforce to help sustain the profession in the future.

Jen Aiken


Jen Aiken has many years nursing experience. She comes from a background in Colorectal and Urology Nursing. For the last 7 years she has been working a Continence Clinical Nurse Consultant with Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District in the Community Setting. Jen has Masters in Advance practice Nursing and a Graduate Certificate in Continence Assessment and Management.

Elizabeth Alemania


Elizabeth Alemania is Clinical Nurse Consultant at Westmead Hospital.


Eva Wallace


Eva is a registered nurse and midwife with a post grad diploma in first line management and numerous certificates in relation to nursing and continence. She worked at the National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) Dún Laoghaire, Dublin, for over 35 years. Eva managed the urology department which invigorated her special interest in continence for neurogenic bladder bowel dysfunction. She was engaged in the production of 2 excellent animated educational training videos. Eva gained a reputation for excellence in patient care although she states 'more often than not, my patients inspired me more'!


Following her retirement, she actively continues to develop strong relationships with nurses by increasing their knowledge and skills to promote continence, through evidence based practice. Eva has received accreditation from NMBI for courses delivered. Eva continues to be involved at both national & international level. She is an active member of the Association of Continence Advisors (ACA), Irish Association Urology Nurse (IAUN) and the European Association of Urology Nurses (EAUN). On behalf of EAUN she was involved with Health First Europe who produced a booklet on Increasing Adherence to CAUTI Guidelines, and co-wrote 2 chapters Handbook of Neurourology . Eva has recently presented at international conferences such as the Maltese Infection Control, EAUN, European Specialist Nurses Organisation (ESNO) and the European School of Urology Nurses (ESUN).
